For Ezra had set his heart
to study the law
of the Lord and
to practice it, and
to teach His statutes
and ordinances in Israel.

Welcome to the Whole Bible Quiz Challenge

What is This ?
This challenge incorporates a 3-year split chronological reading plan accompanied by a quiz for each chapter of the Bible (1095 quizzes covering all 1189 chapters - Job and some Psalms cover multiple chapters per quiz). You may download the printable Reading Plan (Spreadsheet) which includes the number of each quiz, the Bible Reading for the day and a place to record your score. To learn more about what the quizzes cover and how they can actually build in good Bible Study habits click here. The quizzes are also available for each Book of the Bible - just click the by the Book link.

Each day you can click on the Get Today's Quiz# button above to get the quiz for that day. Then you may push the Launch Quiz button above to go to the quiz. On the quiz page you will be given an opportunity to type in the Bible book and chapter using the Bible Gateway (be sure to turn on cross references and footnotes under page options) to access the reading for the day online if you want. Or you could take the quiz without reading the material first. Or if you are new to reading the Bible you could treat this as an open book quiz and answer those you can first, then look up the others to try and get 100% on each quiz! This is especially true for Job and the Psalms as there are multiple chapters for those books.

1 or 2 or 3 Years?

The quiz numbers are based on the first quiz being taken on January 1st, 2022. If you missed the start date you can either start from whatever date you want knowing that this quiz will repeat every three years, or you can try and catch up by typing in a quiz number to take the quizzes you have missed. For those over-achievers out there, by using the included Bible Reading Plan you can read through the Bible in a year (or two years), and also take three (or two) quizzes a day using the appropriate quiz numbers on the Reading Plan for those days.

What is the split chronological reading plan?
We have carefully broken up the Bible reading plan into a chronological sequence. Then we have split the chronology into three sections: First half of the Old Testament (1OT) (Genesis to 1Samuel), second half (2OT) of the OT (2Samuel to Malachi), and the New Testament (NT). Then we have interspersed the NT into the OT chronology at set intervals. So the reading plan follows the pattern: 1OT-NT-2OT-NT-1OT-NT-2OT-NT...

The great thing about this plan is that 1) many of the early OT prophecies / promises / warnings, have their fulfillment later in the OT or NT. Having later OT chapters and NT chapters earlier in the reading plan allows for a fresher recollection of these. It really brings the Bible truths closer to reality. 2) A true chronological plan would have all the NT verses at the end of your reading sequence, thus if you are doing this over 3 years you would not read the NT at all during the first 2 years. Using the split chronology you get a chance to read all over the Bible each year!

What do the quizzes cover and what translation is used?

The quizzes cover the basic text of the Bible. They also cover the geography of the area. So if cities, mountains, rivers, etc,. are mentioned, a Bible Atlas should be consulted. Also if cross references are provided (especially if they are OT quotes) a quick glance at each reference would help. Maybe a few (very few) Greek and Hebrew questions might sneak in too!

The primary version is the New American Standard (NASB 95). However, great pains were taken to consult the New International Version (NIV 1984 and NIV 2011), the English Standard Version (ESV), the King James Version (KJV), and to a lesser extent the New English Translation (NET) to make sure that in reading those versions a person should reasonably be able to choose the correct multiple choice answer. The quizzes are all 4 question multiple choice exams.
